Cathy&Ray and the Vineyard

I loved working with Cathy and Ray. They were very easy going, very friendly and a very handsome couple. They are so simple, yet so elegant in nature. I loved visiting them in Fullerton, CA mostly at Cathy's office.

Their love story, if not mistaken, all started in College at Cal State University of Fullerton. They've been together since then and in October 10, 2009 they met together at Mission Del Rey in Escondido, CA to make their love for each other official through marriage.

I wasn't able to view the ceremony since I was with my other team at the reception site, which was held at the Orfilia Vineyards also in Escondido, CA. I loved this place. I never knew that San Diego even had a vineyard. It was a beautiful day. The weather was perfect, sunny, breezy and above all of that were perfect blue skies.

This was the furthest event site for BFD. It was quite a challenge, but thankfully I had a great team!!! We had a lot of fun working Cathy & Ray's wedding day.

Thank you to you both for choosing Bloomeria~Floral Design to be a part of such a special day in your lives. May your journey together be forever filled with love and endless happiness.

Michelle & Sunday

One of the many things I love about what I do, is meeting the different couples who help inspire me to fall in love and find my someone I can plan such a special day with and of course spend the rest of my life with...

I found myself very privileged to have been chosen by Michelle & Sunday to do their wedding. I have known them for quite some time. We share some of the same friends and go to the same Church. I never really got to know them at a personal level, but since they chose BFD to do their flowers, I was happy to get to know them a little more!

They are the greatest people. The greatest couple! Michelle and I got a long really well. It's really cute how they both have their own style that make them very unique. I knew I'd have to really impress them by making sure I reflect their style in the floral designs I would be coming up with for their wedding. I love how they trusted me with what I can do.

Luckily BFD was invited to dine with the couple during their reception at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, CA. The beautiful Bride spotted me and asked me to come to her. I was hesitant, quite scared that maybe she didn't like the work. But as I made my way to her, she applauded me. I wanted to cry.

It's times like these that make me really happy that I've made someone else happy on probably one of the biggest days of their lives.

Thank you! Thank you again to Michelle & Sunday!

Wow I posted!

I have just been so busy, haven't had the time to sit and blog. It makes me sad. But of course life goes on and here I am finally blogging. There are so many wedding's I'd like to blog on, but while I wait to load up pictures, I'll just update on what I've been up to.

In the the midst of all the chaos life brings, I was able to sneak away for 8 days and 7 nights to paradise. Where? Hawaii! My Best Friend gave me tickets for us to go back in April for my birthday. August couldn't have come faster! Well it finally did and we went along with 2 of our other girlfriends. We spent half our trip in Waikiki and the other half in Maui. I've been to Waikiki before, this was my very first time in Maui and I absolutely fell in love. In all honesty, there was nothing to do! But that was the best part! Nothing to do, meant so much peace and clarity for me.

I'm not going to lie and say that our patience wasn't tested every now and then. Come on! We're girls. Girls can get catty. But despite that, we still had a good time and my love for these girls got even bigger.

I love taking vacations and I wish that I could take more vacay's, hopefully my hard work will pay off and my life will totally take me places...

For now a vacation once a year is a great goal.

My Sister's Married

It still brings me to tears when I think about my Sisters Wedding. She was wed on Saturday, July 4th 2009. Not too long ago, but still seems like it was yesterday I watched her walk down the aisle.

As I mentioned in my Maid of Honor speech, I really didn't know how to feel about her getting married. It's always been the 3 of us, My Mom, my Sister and ME! When I saw her walk down the aisle I couldn't hold back the tears because she was one beautiful bride. I've been to so many weddings, witnessed many vows exchanged, but this one was different because this one was my Sister!

My heart poured with love and happiness for her and her new husband. I now have a brother. Still trying to get use to that, but now I know how it truly feels to love a sister. I felt like I gave away my room mate, my "punching bag", my little sister! But I know that this will only bring us closer. Good things come when you least expect it. I'm so glad my sister found her one and only.

The wedding reception was at The Rococo Room in Pasadena, CA. It was a great place with a great STAFF! Bloomeria~Floral Design was all over this event. My team consisted of my bestest friends. It was awesome!  I'm so thankful for all the help BFD got on that day and all the love and support my family received from everyone!

Here's a glimpse of my sisters wedding... BFD made sure there was a lot of love put into it... I hope it showed...

Cakes!

I love sweets! Cakes are my favorite next to freshly baked Chocolate Chip cookies! Yum!!!

Anyway, people have asked me if I decorate Cakes with floral designs, with fresh flowers that is. Of course I do. I always get nervous doing it though even though I've done numerous of them. I try my best to be as careful as possible. Also a cake sometimes doesn't need all that decor because it already has it's own flavor to it. But upon request of the couple, I will do it and make it as pretty as possible.

A Bridal Bouquet!

I totally loved Jane's Bridal Bouquet! It was even nicer to hear from the Bride herself that she teared when she first saw it as she was getting ready for her special day. THAT made me choke up inside and made this journey with BloomeriaFD even more meaningful!

Flowers that were used: Blue Hydrangeas, White with Pink center Cymbidiums, White Lisanthias, White and Ivory Roses and a hint of light and dark Pink Carnations.

The photo is courtesy of Richwell Correa of Richwell Correa Photography. Check his work out at www.richwellcorrea.com.

Change

It's been awhile since I've updated. I've had a busy week and more to come. I've learned so much in the span of 2 weeks that's probably going to change my life forever. And I just can't believe how much your life can change in a blink of an eye. I'm just thankful that I'm still able to live this borrowed life together with my family and loved ones.

I don't have much time to update just yet on anything, but here's a picture from my Bloomeria~Floral Design Photo shoot done late last year 2008 by my good friend Hanna (photographer on the left). She's a beautiful girl and a beautiful friend! =) The arrangement on the right was one of the photos she took and was actually her favorite.

10 on Tuesday: 10 Favorite Cities

This 10 on Tuesday was for 2 weeks ago. I'm late, but it's okay.

  1. L.A. - I was born and raised here, so of course it's a favorite of mine! I also love, despite the smog and the snobs. ;P
  2. New York - It smells weird, it's so busy, so crowded, but it has so much character, so much diversity, so much life!
  3. Chicago - I love the city! It's very picturesque! It has this humble characteristic to it and I also love the fact how much the Chicagoans love their city!
  4. San Francisco - This should have been my #1. If I could move there right now, I would. I love it love it love it! I love everything about it! It has so much personality, so much good food!
  5. Las Vegas - Who doesn't love Vegas? I love this place. I mean come on , where else can you get the best buffets!? When I think of Vegas, I think Shopping, Buffet and Crazy people! Great city! I especially love it at night!
  6. San Diego - When I think of San Diego, I feel calm. Their downtown is so cute and so small, but you still get that exciting city vibe.
  7. Honolulu - Hawaii! Hello?! Who wouldn't love it? I've only been there once and will be back in a few months, which I can't wait for! My first vacation there was GREAT and unforgettable. Beautiful beaches!
  8. Vancouver - Canada. I went there numerous times when I was a lot younger. It was always on a family trip. I just remember it being really cold. The snow falling and just how calm and beautiful it was. I wouldn't mind going back there for another vaca.
  9. Cabo, Mexico - I loved it there. Beautiful beaches. Beautiful scenery. The resorts there are gorgeous!
  10. I'll save #10 for another great place that I'll be going to in the future.

iphoto. ilove.

I just finished my iphoto book today! It took me forever.

I originally saw the idea from my friend Lyssa. She did one for her beautiful little girl Franchesca's 1st Birthday. I thought it was awesome! And as I was flipping through pages, coupled with disbelief that her daughter is already 1, I also immediately thought PORTFOLIO! I thought it would be a great way to present my work. Instead of my photo albums that I bring along, I can just take this book, it looks very chic and professional.

Since I've been so busy, it's been hard for me to get started on it. As soon as I found down time, I started carefully choosing pictures of my work, worthy to be in this book. I was extremely surprised at the price. I thought that my 30 pages would exceed my budget for this book, but I just kept telling myself that it is a lifetime investment and who knows how long I'll be in business, it will be put into good use! This will totally help me during my presentations to potential clients. The price was actually surprisingly very gooooood. I was able to get EXPRESS delivery, still maintaining the budget I initially sought out.

So you'll be able to see the book once you call to meet with Bloomeria~Floral Design and for sure you won't be disappointed!

I love it! I look through my sample piece that I have saved in my computer every chance I get! =)

Website Coming Soon!

So I met with my fabulous (fabulous is the word of the day!) Wed Designer... Cheryl Valdez last night. I have been lagging on getting my site up since I've just been so busy with all the weddings. But finally I'm slowly recovering and can get myself to think business!

I hired this chick because I heard many good things about her from Greg. They have been good friends for a very long time. I was also impressed by her portfolio and felt she had great style. I don't know much about web design so I needed someone who can be patient enough to explain in ENGLISH not in web design language what my website entails and what I need to do to get it done!

She's been extremely patient and super cool! =) For lack of better words. The website is almost done, just a couple more things to check off the list and it'll be up and running. I'm really excited!!!!

Check her out!

Tiffany and Harvey JAVIER

Tiffany and Harvey JAVIER had their wedding on May 9th 2009. It was probably one of my BIGGEST weddings, I've ever worked. They had a LARGE entourage! They had a count of 18 sponsors. A GREAT Catholic wedding it was... More to come on the Wedding with pictures of Bloomeria's work of course!

I remember when I first met with Tiff and Harv. It was around September 2009. Tiff is a very organized girl and wanted everything done to the T. I loved how organized she was. She kept me on my toes.

One thing I noticed from the instant I met them was their bond. Of course I always notice that when I meet with couples, but for some reason theirs stood out, and NO I don't say this about EVERY couple I meet. Theirs was just so cute and friendly. AND most of all they were a match made in heaven because they were both SO NICE. There's one thing that Harv said that made me melt and he wasn't even my fiance', but knew that instant how much he loved and cared for Tiff. His simple, "Whatever makes you happy, babe" said so much about him, about them as she demanded that PURPLE be the dominant and only color for the wedding. hahaha... =) But I'm sure their overall relationship is based on that, her happiness and how her happiness completes him.

I often think it's hilarious when my Brides have their Grooms come to our meetings. When I see the Groom at every session, I have to give him PROPS! hahahaha... It isn't easy sitting there for an hour or so going over flowers and colors. Pretty much the Bride has all that under control and the Groom is there for support. Without skipping a beat, Harv was always with Tiff at every meeting we had! What a guy!

I saw them at least every month, like I said Tiff is very organized and wanted everything done in a special way. I got use to them, having them down on my schedule book. I never thought I'd have client's remorse, but I'm feeling it a little... I wish them both the happiness they both deserve and I hope they continue their bond FOREVER.

Thank you to the newlyweds for trusting Bloomeria~Floral Design to be part of such a special day in your lives...

The Pattersons

I enjoyed working this wedding VERY MUCH. Juliet and Hugh were the greatest people to work with. They knew what they wanted and they trusted their vendors to do the work! Everything turned out fabulous.

More pictures and words to come on such a great and blessed day...

Picture of the Day...

Towards the end of 2008 my sister treated me to a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. We had a great time! Time was just going a little too fast, but we made the best of what CABO had to offer! We can't wait to go back...

As I sit here and work, as well as recuperate from the Javier-Piniones Wedding this past weekend, I stare off into this picture wishing I was back there again!

COLOR is the New Black...

So like I tell all my Brides... "Do NOT be afraid of COLOR!"

I love asking the Bride what her color palette will be for their special day. It almost helps me figure out who they are??? Yeah that seems weird, but that's just how it turns out. Tell me your color, and I'll tell you who you are?!? haha... sounds cheesy, but it's almost true, well for me it is. I almost know which direction they'll be going with their wedding, once they tell me their colors and a little bit about their love story. I LOVE IT!

When I get to venture through different flowers, especially with lots of color, I get super ecstatic! I find more inspiration in creating a design when a lot of color is involved into the design. Not that I don't do great, beautiful and creative arrangements with solid colors, I guess I'm just a LOVER of color and have more fun when I get to work with all of them. But I do love solid colors as well, it has a feel of class and simplicity. Either way, no matter what color you choose, the beauty of it will always be captured through the different creativity and style of your wedding.

But contrary to popular belief, Color is the New Black! =)

Maid of Honor

I've been doing flowers since probably the middle of College. It helped me get by and at the same time I enjoyed doing it! It wasn't my priority because then my priority was to successfully get out of school! Which I finally did last year. =)

Anyway, I thought I should blog about this particular wedding because they are very dear to me and was one of my first huge weddings. My second wedding to be exact, back in January 2006. I was also the Maid of Honor.

Irene and I didn't know each other very long, but we got along really quick. She became a sister to me and my love for her and Jeffrey grew in an instant, almost as if I've known them my whole life.

Both their families are in the Philippines and could not make it to their wedding because of citizenship reasons, but my family and extended family made sure that they felt the love and support they would feel with their real family on such a special day. I still cry when Irene makes me watch her wedding video. I don't ever look or listen when it shows the part of my MOH speech. I'm such a sap! I totally choked and cried throughout the speech, when I promised myself I wouldn't! But I guess that's just how it is when you're feeling the love in the air...

Anyway, her colors were yellow and green. I loved the colors because they were bright and stood out on such a cold and wintery day.

I love you both! You both continue to inspire me and thank you for sharing your little boy Sean with us...

BloomeriaFD to the rescue!

Photo taken by Reinier De Vera

My friend Eliza from church had contacted me through GMAIL chat sharing with me how she needed a FLORIST for her Brother's wedding. I immediately took the opportunity and only had 2 days to plan for it.

It was on a Monday evening in the Southern part of San Diego. Very small and intimate wedding, with just family.

The colors the Bride preferred were Purple. I didn't realize how popular the color was for weddings, I say this because I had another wedding booked for the same color. But I guess everyone has their preference. To me, any color goes, as long as it signifies the couple and their style.

WELCOME to Bloomeria~Floral Design!

Welcome! Bloomeria~Floral Design will now be blogging on the web!

I'm pretty excited to get this started, to be able to express my thoughts and feelings about something I absolutely LOVE to do.

BloomeriaFD has grown since I first initially thought of beginning the business. I am no where close to knowing how to run my own business. But with God's blessings and guidance, here I am!

BloomeriaFD is something I am so proud of. I know there is a field of GREAT Florist out there and they continue to be inspirations to me. I hope I can grow to be just as talented. For now I grow on my own, I let my passion for this talent flow and because I love so much what I do, I hope that it shows through my work.

For all my past, current, and future clients, THANK YOU for allowing me to share with you a talent that will take your event to exactly what you've pictured it to be...
